SMALL GROUP OPPORTUNITIES
Are you looking for a way to connect with other Catholic students and grow deeper in your faith? Consider joining one of CCC's small groups this semester!
WOMEN'S GROUP: "The world does not need what women have, it needs what women are." ~ St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross (Edith Stein) All women are invited to attend all or part of the 8-week Sisterhood Series of Blessed is She. We will discuss how our Catholic faith calls us to meaningful friendships and will meet by Zoom for the time being. To participate in a scheduling poll for this group, please click HERE and e-mail Grace Cala (gmc96@cornell.edu) to express interest.
MEN'S GROUP: Men's Group seeks to grow in both faith and fellowship in every meeting, for G.K Chesterton says, "In Catholicism, the pint, the pipe, and the Cross can all fit together." In addition to catching up with each other over casual conversation, we deeply explore various aspects of the Faith together. Recent examples of meeting activities include reading about the benefits of Eucharistic Adoration, reading and discussing the writings of the Desert Fathers, and discerning what it means to be a man - a Catholic man - in today's world. If you're looking for a group of guys with whom to discuss theology, seek a virtuous life, and just value each other's presence, we would love to have you at Men's Group. Prior participation is not required. To participate in a scheduling poll for this group, please click HERE and e-mail Alex Koenigsberger (ak826@cornell.edu) to express interest.
GRAD GROUP: The Cornell Catholic Graduate and Professional Student Group is a gathering of Catholic students enrolled in many different graduate and professional programs at Cornell. We meet once a week to discuss a wide range of Catholic topics and to have fun within a supportive and caring community. In addition to these regular events, we also generally hold a variety of social events and a book club throughout the semester. The group will meet this coming Tuesday at 6pm in person (AT G-22) or by Zoom (Meeting ID: 936 5309 0603, Passcode: gradgroup0). If you would like to acquire the link to join us for a meeting, get on our mailing list, or ask a question, please don't hesitate to reach out to Zach Huber (zbh5@cornell.edu). We would love to meet you!
ECUMENICAL SUNG NIGHT PRAYER AT ST. LUKE'S
"I write to let you know you are always welcome at Compline: Musical Night Prayer most every Wednesday night at 8:30 p.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 109 Oak Avenue. That’s just steps from Anabel Taylor, uphill of what used to be CTB but is about to be Ithaca Beer. All are invited for a quiet time of candlelight, chant, and choral music. Anyone wishing to offer a short spoken reflection on the text of the day should contact me for scheduling at erik.kibelsbeck@gmail.com. This was an important opportunity for CCC members when this service was held in Anabel prior to March 2020. Singers with solid reading skills are welcome to contact me about singing. The service will also be available online live and afterwards at the Compline from St. Luke Ithaca Youtube channel, though I hope we can revel in the ability to be together again. Masks are required at St. Luke, though singing remains possible." -Erik Kibelsbeck (Music Director, St. Luke and Compline)
